What gets translated
Everything on the page: printed fields, handwritten entries, registry stamps and seals, marginal notes and anything on the reverse. Nothing is summarised or left out. Soviet-era booklet certificates and modern single-sheet forms are handled alike.
Many certificates from the region are bilingual — Tajik and Russian, or Uzbek and Russian. Both languages are translated, because a translation that skips one of them is not a full translation.
Names and spellings
Each name is transliterated one way throughout. Send us the photo page of the passport as well and we match the spelling to it.
Where the certificate itself spells a name differently from the passport, we keep what the document says and add a translator’s note. We do not silently correct an original.
How to order
Photograph the document on your phone — the whole page in frame, text readable, and the back if anything is written there — and send it to us on WhatsApp. There is nothing to install and no form to fill in.
We reply with the page count, a fixed price and a completion time. Nothing is payable until you accept the price in writing.
What “certified” means in the UK
England and Wales have no sworn translators. A certified translation is one that carries a written confirmation that it is a true and accurate translation of the original, with the date, a name, a signature and contact details, so that the body receiving it can check who stands behind it.
Ours comes as a Certificate of Accuracy on company letterhead. It names the translator who did the work and is signed and dated by the director of MENDEE LTD, an ITI Affiliate. Notarisation and apostille are separate steps carried out by a notary and by the FCDO; we translate and certify, we are not notaries.
Questions
How much does it cost to translate a birth certificate?
About £25 for a single-page certificate. That figure is indicative: you receive a fixed price in writing before any work begins, and nothing is payable until you accept it.
How long does a birth certificate translation take?
Within 24 hours of payment for Tajik, Uzbek and Russian certificates. If you need it sooner, tell us your deadline and we will say honestly whether it is achievable.
Do you need the original document?
No. A clear photo of the whole page, and of the back if anything is written there, is enough for the translation. Whether the body you are applying to wants to see your original is for them to say.
Will the Home Office accept the translation?
The Certificate of Accuracy carries what the Home Office guidance asks for: confirmation that the translation is accurate, the date, the translator’s full name, a signature and contact details. If a rejection is ever attributable to the quality of our translation, we re-issue it with a fresh certificate at no cost. We cannot advise on the application itself.
Can you translate a Soviet-era birth certificate?
Yes. Soviet-era certificates are usually in Russian together with the language of the republic, and both are translated in full, including the registry stamps and any later handwritten amendments.
Do you translate Kazakh, Kyrgyz or Ukrainian documents?
On request. Tajik, Uzbek and Russian are translated by our own staff. Kazakh, Kyrgyz and Ukrainian go to a vetted linguist engaged for the job: we tell you before quoting, the price and time are confirmed per job, and no document is passed on without your agreement.
